My Mom sent me to the grocery store earlier today
Some strange guy started talking to me, I didn’t know what I should say
So I started to freak out, I couldn’t take it any more
I ran away and caught my breath inside my door

It’ll be another five days before I can leave my room
Because my head gets with filled with images of dark, impending doom
My Dad’s upset because I’m 40 and I can’t hold down a job
And here comes my Mom again, I hear her hand on the door knob

"Relax, pipe down, you’re fine
It’s all inside your mind"
She thinks she’s being kind
"It’s all inside your mind"

For a while it’s not bad
Then my head starts to buzz
Then once again, here’s my Dad
"Hey son, don’t sweat it"

I have this nightmare every night where I’m outside and I’m lost
But not nearly in a good way, like if I was maybe sauced
I wander round aimlessly, I cannot find my way back
I cannot find my way anywhere, my head’s completely out of whack

This nightmare terrifies me, it always has and always will
I wake up and feel as if my head been underneath a dentist’s drill
My Mom keeps saying some day I’ll get better and move out
Too bad, she doesn't know what she is talking about
