Got hit by a car yesterday
I just can’t stop crying, Oh dear me
Since my poor Shmulie’s gone away

My husband Mel wants a Dalmatian
He told me poodles are useless
Since then I’ve had an inclination
To hurt old Melvin, I confess

My God, please, it feels like you’ve ripped my world apart
Forgive me, could it be that you don’t have a heart?

Had a poodle named Shmulie
She passed and now she’s gone

Mel was drinking beers with his friend Moe
He made a crack about Shmulie
I called Mel a big lazy Fatso
And told him I was going to leave

I walked into town past the pet store
Glanced in the window on a whim
Saw a cute Pit Bull I just adored
Old Melvin won’t know what hit him
